Creative Portfolio

Kevin Wearing

Welcome

Welcome to my creative portfolio! My name is Kevin and I have a passion for graphic design and creative assignments.

I created this website to showcase my experience in creative/digital work, and to demonstrate how I've applied it to various projects over my career.

The creative tools I've used for digital creation are primarily Adobe Photoshop and Adobe After Effects.

These collections are samples from various projects I have completed over the last year or so.

I have also provided some background graphics that were used on Twitch streams, and some other miscellaneous graphics I have recently completed.

Game Design

Game Design

Kamar Taj: In Summer 2021 I was tasked by my client to design a game world and work with a game studio to produce it on 'The Sandbox' platform. The game world was in theme with his trading club brand, and our plan was to drive active users by placing valuable trading strategies inside the game which the players had to find. In the end, my client decided not to proceed after initial designs were made as the game studio would not accept Cryptocurrency as payment.

Camel Drift: In Autumn 2021 we started a new game project called Camel Drift, the model of which was based on Zed Run but with an Arabian twist. Our CTO had experience working with Saudi's and was aware how big camel racing was to that audience. We hired a Unity game developer to build the game based on our design, but we struggled and failed to hire a RUST dev to build out the smart contracts for the Solana blockchain, and in the end the project lost traction as the 2022 bear market set in.

For both projects, blockchain and NFT games were at their trending peak, riding the metaverse narrative

Meme Art

Art Direction

Around the time when NFTs were becoming big business, we set out to create a crypto-themed Anime NFT collection. We decided Anime would be a great vehicle to capture interest from Asia, and so I found an anime artist on Fiverr who would create the art for us.

I worked with my client to navigate through ideas for NFT art, and I turned those ideas into compositions which I then provided to the artist. I was the intermediary between the client and the artist, managing the process in the middle.

I also experimented with Adobe After Effects to turn the art into motion, to try and turn this art into a collectable series.

Meme Art

My client would frequently ask me to create memes for his social media account. He was a big Pepe the Frog fan, so most if not all requests involved Pepe the Frog, put in different situations that were topical with the subject he wanted to talk about on Social Media.

Memes are modern day satire and are incredibly effective at capturing a target audience when tuned right.

Where I can, I have provided examples where the client has provided the requirements, the work I produced, and how it was implemented on Twitter.

Motion Graphics

Camel Drift: I created the motion graphic introduction, which was then integrated into the game with game data put into the display about the previous race and the upcoming race.

Subverto Trading Club: This was used as an intro/outro for a show streamed regularly on twitch.

Keiko: This was my attempt to bring our NFT collection to life by animating over the art produced by the artist.

Cranleigh Touch Rugby: A short promo video for my local touch rugby team to help attract new players

UX/UI Design

UX/UI Design

Part of my role as Managing Director at Network Diagnostics was to produce a new Front End UI for our WebApp.

Here I have provided some examples of this work, showcasing a complete workflow and some other screens which were then produced by a Front End developer.
